Located along Buffalo’s Outer Harbor, Buffalo Harbor State Park is a 190-acre waterfront destination and the City of Buffalo’s only New York State park. The park has long served as a popular gathering place for the community, offering a marina, waterfront trails, recreational areas, and access to Lake Erie. As visitation continued to grow, the park’s aging facilities and limited amenities created a need for significant improvements to better accommodate visitors and expand recreational opportunities.

Funded through a $47.5 million investment by New York State, the recently completed renovation represents the largest capital investment in the park’s history. The comprehensive project transformed the park with new recreational, public, and visitor amenities, including a 6,500-square-foot interactive spray ground, expanded playground equipment, 13 new gender-neutral restrooms, a new park operations building, and a new boat and kayak launch. The project also added a new waterfront café and retail space, dedicated infrastructure for food trucks, waterside pergola swings and shade structures, EV charging stations, updated park furnishings, vending machines, and new landscaping throughout the site.

The tour will provide an opportunity to see the recently completed improvements firsthand and learn more about the project’s transformation of the waterfront park. The tour will be followed by an informal happy hour and networking just after 5 p.m. Ticket price includes a drink ticket.
